WorldViews: Syrians on both sides of civil war oppose breakup of their nation, study finds

Despite the unraveling of their state and all the hideous violence of a merciless four-year civil war, most Syrians still want their tattered nation to remain whole.That's one of the conclusions of a newly published survey of Syrian public opinion conducted under the auspices of the Syria Justice and Accountability Center, a Netherlands and Washington, D.C.-based organization that documents human rights violations and pushes for justice and accountability in the war-torn country. The survey was carried out by Charney Research, a firm that specializes in countries in crisis, and involved a total of 40 in-depth interviews with a wide range of Syrians by professional researchers in seven different Syrian cities between August and October of last year.Read full article >>
